Wiki page with custom Save button

Hi all,

Below post shows how to include custom SAVE button in a page for Wiki pages. This could also be applied for regular publishing pages, but I have not tested that.

Generally Ribbon toolbar holds the SAVE button. But what if we need a custom button inside the page for our UI convenience?

Do the below:

Anchor Link:

<a class=”A_ASaveArticle” href=”Javascript:” >Save article</a>

Include the above Anchor link inside a EditModePanel. So that it is displayed only in Edit Mode:

<PublishingWebControls:EditModePanel class=”ewiki-margin” runat=”server”>

<a class=”A_ASaveArticle” href=”Javascript:” >Save article</a>

</PublishingWebControls:EditModePanel>

Now, add a JS click for it like below:

$(“.A_ASaveArticle”).unbind(“click”).bind(“click”, function(){

CoreInvoke(‘PageActionClick’, this);

return false;

});
